Before You Fly
A few important pointers before you embark on one of our charter flights.
Baggage
All aircraft have a Maximum Authorised Take-off Weight, determined by the manufacturer, which may never be exceeded. The distance to be flown determines how much fuel must be carried — and that, in turn, determines how many passengers and how much baggage the aircraft can take.
Bulk and dimensions matter too. Hard suitcases often will not fit light aircraft; soft, squashable duffel bags are strongly preferred. Larger passengers may have practical difficulty boarding certain aircraft — please seek guidance from our operations team beforehand (info [at] guthrieaviation [dot] com).
Dangerous Goods
Dangerous Goods are items that may endanger the safety of an aircraft or the people on board — also known as restricted articles, hazardous materials or dangerous cargo. Their carriage is primarily governed by the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, which forbid most items. Smoking on board is strictly prohibited at all times.
Generally permitted

- Non-radioactive medicinal or toilet articles / aerosols (max 2 kg or 2 L total).
- Alcoholic beverages in retail packaging, 24–70% ABV, up to 5 L per person.
- Battery-powered wheelchairs / mobility aids with non-spillable batteries (with approval).
- Dry ice up to 2.5 kg per person for packing perishables (must be marked).

This is a summary only. Firearms and ammunition may be carried as checked baggage by prior arrangement and must be packed per all applicable regulations. When in doubt, ask us before you pack.
