As part of our ongoing safety managment and quality assurance program we have implemented satellight tracking on our aircraft. While enabling us to ensure that our aircraft are operated in accordance with our standard operating procedures it has also given us the ability to rapidly locate our aircraft in the event of an emergency. Pilots are also able to raise attention and communicate with the flight operations department through the use of standard "Mark" messages ensuring that you are never alone even if there is no radio or cell phone signal.
Our students are only a press of a button away from getting assistance should the need arise, and instructors are able to follow their students flights in real time ensuring that all the flight objectives were accomplished.
As clients with passengers on our flights you have access to live tracking, although with less detail, you will be able to see where your flight is and when your guests may be expected to arrive.

Guthrie Aviation is the oldest commercially operating flight training school in Zimbabwe. The school was founded in 1995 by Craig Guthrie who, prior to establishing this school, was involved in training schools since 1988.
Although licensed to conduct Air Charter Operations, the schools main focus has always been on pilot training. The school is approved by and registered with the Ministry of Higher Education.
Numerous pilots have been trained at Guthrie Aviation, most of whom have continued their careers in aviation and are today flying for many of the world’s largest airlines.
The school offers full & part time training for the Private Pilots Licence and the Commercial Pilots Licence, as well as Instrument ratings, night ratings & type conversions (multi-engine and single engine, including tail wheel). The part time training option allows many people to fulfil their dream of learning to fly, whilst continuing with their normal day to day life.
The majority of the training is conducted in Cessna 172’s, with the complex type training being conducted in a Cessna 210. Multi-engine training is conducted in a Piper Twin Commance or Beachcraft Baron.
All of the schools training material has been developed, over the years, by the dedicated school personnel whose combined experience, exceeds twenty five thousand hours of airborne training.
Training presentations are computerised and the school has it’s own in house computerised testing facility.
The instructors not only have experience in pilot training, but also in charter operations, corporate aviation and scheduled heavy aircraft operations.
Based at Charles Prince Airport in Zimbabwe, the local weather patterns promote flying throughout the year.
